Onionskin — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-19

Onionskin does not collect, transmit, or share any data.

What the extension stores

When you add a design image, Onionskin reads it in your browser and saves it, along with that layer's position, scale, opacity and blend mode, to chrome.storage.local. This data is keyed by the page URL so your alignment survives a reload.

chrome.storage.local is local to your browser. This data is never uploaded, synced to other devices, or made available to the developer or anyone else.

What the extension does not do

Onionskin makes no network requests of any kind. It contains no analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting, no advertising, and no remote code. It does not read the content of the pages you visit; it only draws your overlay on top of them.

Permissions

Onionskin requests no host permissions, so it cannot access any page until you explicitly click its toolbar icon.

Removing your data

Removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything it stored.
